Our partner's next VP of Quality Assurance & Food Safety will play a pivotal role in ensuring that their food manufacturing facilities & retail locations maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This position will oversee all aspects of quality assurance, including product testing, quality control processes, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across North America.

  • Develop and implement quality assurance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Lead and manage the Quality Assurance and Food Safety team, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure that quality objectives are met.
  • Establish and maintain quality control processes and systems to monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process, from raw material sourcing to finished product distribution.
  • Develop quality assurance and food safety key performance indicators to monitor performance and identify areas of improvement.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with quality standards, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry stakeholders to stay informed of regulatory changes and industry trends.
  • Lead crisis management and product recall procedures, ensuring timely and effective responses to quality-related issues.
  • Drive a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement throughout the organization, fostering a proactive approach to quality assurance and risk management.
  • Degree in food science, microbiology, chemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in quality assurance or quality control roles within the food manufacturing industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing quality assurance programs and processes in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including FDA, USDA, and GFSI standards (e.g., SQF, BRC).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices to enhance product quality and safety.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.
