Job Description – Vice President of Sales

This Lower Mainland consumer product manufacturer has been a success story from the day it opened. Producing thousands of cases of product every year through multiple channels of distribution, our client is in need of a strong Vice President of Sales to oversee a geographically diverse sales force.

Some of what you will do in this role includes:
  • Management of Field Sales Managers, Key Account Managers, and all Sales headcount
  • Leads the account strategy, planning process, sets performance, KPIs, aligns targets and goals with marketing and production, and is responsible for the overall growth of the business through the successful acquisition of new points of distribution, incremental shelf and display space, and the on-time launch of new products
  • Manage and develop customer relationships with key decision makers; establish and maintain high-level, executive contact with accounts, focusing on the establishment and maintenance of strategic relationships
  • Responsible for communicating priorities effectively across the organizational hierarchy
  • Leverage Category Management and Insights team to develop account programs, sales plan and promotion calendar based on category, customer, and consumer insights
  • Partner with Marketing and Finance teams on annual planning process & oversee the management and use of Account budgets
  • Develop, deploy and track the execution of marketing and sales programs
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentorship and development to the team
  • Negotiate volume commitments, service levels, margins, and funding for assigned accounts, and monitor compliance
  • Work across the organization to help resolve issues such as inventory concerns, price discrepancies or program funding
  • Create, and present sales analysis discoveries, including relevant insights to sell products and services to customers, and to engage local teams on relevant sales analytics
  • Attend account meetings, business reviews, trade shows, and required internal meetings to be the senior leadership voice for the sales division
In order to apply you should have the following in your background:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing or finance
  • 5 + years of experience in the consumer products industry
  • 2 + years of management experience
  • Account management experience
  • Category management and brand management experience
  • Experience working cross-functionally with finance, marketing, logistics and entrepreneurial leadership
  • Strong analytical mindset with a good grasp of analytical tools and MS Office
  • Good presentation abilities
