A University of Alberta graduate with a Bachelor of Arts, Bruce MacDonald is a recognized executive search market leader with over 38 years of combined corporate and recruitment experience. His distinguished career began with a 13-year foundation in consumer packaged goods, holding progressive sales and marketing roles with Wrigley Canada and Abbott Nutrition, including positions in key account management, regional sales leadership, category management, trade marketing, and national sales leadership.
This extensive client-side experience provides Bruce with invaluable insight into organizational dynamics, talent requirements, and the challenges facing hiring managers—perspectives that few recruiters possess. In 1998, Bruce transitioned to executive search with a large national search firm, where he spent nearly 13 years as Senior Consultant & Partner, specializing in CPG and beverage alcohol recruitment.
In October 2010, Bruce founded MacDonald Search Group in Vancouver, building it into one of Canada's most trusted and experienced executive search firms. Under his leadership, the firm has expanded to eight offices across Canada—Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal Moncton, and Halifax—delivering comprehensive talent acquisition services with local expertise and North American reach.
