Our client, a prominent university is seeking a Deputy Campus Executive to provide operational leadership for its campus based in downtown Vancouver. The Vancouver campus boasts an excellent and dedicated core of full and part-time faculty, a new, state-of-the-art facility, small class sizes, close working relations between students, faculty and staff, and an intensive and unrivaled student support system focused on individual student success. The student population is growing every year with increasing enrolment in multiple accredited professional undergraduate and graduate degree programs making this a great time to join the leadership team!

Reporting to the Vancouver Campus Executive, the Deputy Vancouver Campus Executive acts as the chief operating officer for the campus, assisting the Campus Executive in developing and accomplishing the campus’ mission, strategic goals and objectives and provides leadership and direction for the overall operational management, administration, and supervision of the campus.

What you will be doing:
  • Assists the Campus Executive in creating an environment that supports the campus and University goals and objectives and that fosters a sense of community among students, faculty, administrators, staff, and guests.
  • Oversees administrative services including facilities management, space planning, and campus safety and security
  • Prepares the campus operating budget and monitors budgetary compliance.
  • Assists in overseeing human resource management
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies, including the preparation of required reporting obligations.
  • Provides leadership to a small team of direct reports
  • Negotiates with vendors for contracted services
  • Assists in coordinating student academic support services
Who you are:
  • Master’s degree required or equivalent in a field related to higher education administration. Doctorate is a plus.
  • Administrative experience in higher education including staff management and fiscal accountability.
  • Extensive knowledge of university operations required.
  • Experience in the development and oversight of a substantial budget.
  • Ability to provide leadership to diverse constituencies, and develop and maintain effective and constructive collaborative relationships with campus administration and staff at all levels.
  • Outstanding oral and written communications skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide organizational leadership and a commitment to working in an inclusive, diverse and fully participative organizational culture.
