POSITION: Project Manager
LOCATION: Whitby, ON (on-site position)


Please note this is an on-site position Monday to Friday with core hours of 8:30am-5:00pm. The work environment is flexible to adjust hours as needed and make up time on other days.

Our client, a Canadian leader in architecture and millwork installation, is looking to bring on a Project Manager to join their dynamic and growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to step into an established company that is poised for rapid growth scaling across Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage a variety of concurrent commercial and residential architectural millwork projects.
  • Ensure all work is completed after budgeting and post contract administration through installation and closeout documents.
  • Analyze and comprehend project plans, specifications, and details.
  • Setup and maintain a project budget and schedule of values.
  • Responsible for overall scheduling of assigned projects.
  • Conduct field surveying when necessary.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and meet high quality standards.
  • Write RFIs and change orders, Prepare progress reports to clients, Examine drawings for conformity and errors, and analyze project financials and labor costs.
  • Scheduling of site installation by employees/subcontractors.
  • Negotiate installation terms with subcontractors.
  • Deal with any installation issues.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Carpentry Technician Diploma/College level certificate in a related field ideal.
  • Previous construction project management experience with a thorough degree of knowledge with regards to the various aspects of a project.
  • Procore Construction Management Software experience is a major plus.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Excellent management, negotiating and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills with ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and choose the appropriate course of action.
  • Possess prioritization skills necessary to use time effectively and set action plans to achieve targets.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship building skills.
  • Works well under pressure and meets deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s license with respectable driving record.
